Natural Brand photography with Amanda White of Gift Frippery - embracing nature and eco gift-wrapping.
I first met Amanda in 2019 when I attended one of Gift frippery’s eco-luxe gift wrapping workshops. It was a wonderful morning spent learning about new ways to reuse redundant household items to wrap gifts and to create new innovative ways of wrapping presents without purchasing one-use wrapping paper. I went along, got a little creative and captured some gorgeous “in the moment” images of the workshop. Amanda was keen to work together again and this year Amanda asked me to capture behind the scenes at the Gift Frippery headquarters plus all the exciting new ideas she has coming up for this Christmas and beyond.
During this half day branding photography experience, Amanda and I planned to capture exactly what Gift Frippery is all about. It’s not all just wrapping presents though, Amanda is always coming up with new, creative and innovative ideas to wrap all shapes and sizes of gifts and Amanda also focuses on sourcing local and eco-friendly options for gift wrapping too. Amanda loves to inspire and teach others and regularly posts all of her latest tips on the Gift Frippery instagram page .
We began by capturing a planning session. Amanda regularly holds gift wrapping workshops and is currently working on the Christmas workshops she is planning to run during November in Bristol. I love to know all the ins and outs of your brand and help where I can so Amanda and I chatted as she and I both worked and shared some ideas for locations and workshop ideas. Before long, it was time to move outdoors to bring the natural side to Amanda’s business into the brand imagery. Amanda is a nature lover and loves to spend time in her garden. She feels inspired by the herbs and flowers that she grows and the wild foliage she finds on her walks on the Downs in Bristol. You will notice many of Amanda’s gift wrapping ideas are inspired by nature. To finish the Gift Frippery brand photography session, we headed into Bristol to visit Sew and Sew in St Nick’s market. This is a regular visit for Amanda to look for new ribbons and materials to inspire and create new gift wrapping ideas. It’s a beautiful shop, full of colour and lovely materials, it’s definitely worth a visit for any crafter. Just as we were heading home, the rain began to come down which gave us the perfect excuse to get this vibrant brolly out. It was a perfect end to a great photo session with Gift Frippery and I think we captured the true essence and fun of Amanda’s passion and business. What do you think?
